Hello OCHA Members!
I would like to take a moment to congratulate the OCHA members who competed at the 2019 All-American Quarter Horse Congress. Once again, OCHA proved that we are nationally competitive. I am very proud of our small club.
I hope everyone enjoyed the 2019 show season. Our final show was a big success with the Bridleless Calcutta class sponsored by MadBarn, as well as the BBQ steak dinner sponsored by Venture Gate Farms. We had close to 400 spectators! This was an excellent promotion of the sport of cutting. Thank you to all who supported the event.
Your elected Directors made some significant changes this season. The 50K Amateur class was moved up in the class order and included not only FRESH cattle but ADDED MONEY as well! The Amateur Saddle Series encouraged fierce but friendly competition amongst members - congratulations to Lynne Purdie on winning the saddle sponsored by Irvine Tack/OCHA.
Additional fresh cattle were added to the Open, NonPro, 50K Am, 25K Novice and 25K Novice NonPro classes.
Two clinics were offered this year, one being the Trey Wilson clinic sponsored by Reed Farm, as well as the Tyler Delange cutting clinic sponsored by Gallagher Stables/Venture Gate Farms/Reed Farm. These clinics were PRIVATELY funded, so a big thank-you to those sponsors for their generosity.
Please remember to return any unsold tickets and monies from the sale of raffle tickets by January 25, 2020. Raffle prizes include a quarter of beef, a gyclee-on-canvas equine print by cowboy artist Tim Cox, as well as a MadBarn gift package. Thank you to Reed Farm, Van Boekel Hog Farms and MadBarn for their generous donations.
