The Jake Walker Memorial Trophy is the Spirit of Cutting award awarded to a cutter who exemplifies the character by which Jake is remembered: the smile, the spirit, the fun, the quiet determination, the never quit attitude, the good sportsmanship and the camaraderie of the sport of cutting. Jake's motto was "Champions are not those that never fail but those that never quit." Jake never quit!
The trophy was originally donated by Lexie and April Reed who did fundraising to purchase it .
