OCHA is excited to announce our Saddle Series!

We will be awarding a Jim Taylor saddle to the High-Point Horse and Rider Combination for the 2022 season. Thank you to the partnership between Jim Taylor Saddlery and The Sliding Stop Tack Shop for donating this saddle to OCHA! Check out this gorgeous square-skirt, rough-out cutter!

Rules for the 2022 Saddle Series are as follows:

  • Winner will have obtained the most points by a single combination of 1 rider with 1 horse throughout the 2022 season.
  • All horse/rider combinations are eligible regardless of earnings, classes entered, etc.
  • Points are awarded as normally done to track OCHA/NCHA season standings (Hint: larger class = more points).
  • Horse + Rider Combination can collect points towards Saddle Series in all NCHA-approved classes in which they compete (ie. points earned in 250 and Ranch classes are not included in the Saddle Series as points are tracked differently for these classes)
  • A rider may have points tracked for the Saddle Series on multiple horses but each individual combination of Rider + Horse is independent of all others when it comes to the tallying of points for the Series.
  • A horse may have points tracked for the Saddle Series with multiple riders but each individual combination of Rider + Horse is independent of all others when it comes to the tallying of points for the Series.
